AETHERstream 2.o

The AETHERstream 2.0 was an opportunity to rethink the mobile retail experience. The aim was to create a space that feels more open, more intuitive, and easier to shop, while staying true to the material clarity and restraint found in AETHER’s retail environments.

Starting with a new Airstream shell, the interior was reworked to improve flow and reduce pinch points, giving the space a more open and usable feel. Each element was approached with usability in mind, from integrated storage to more efficient display areas and increased faceouts, helping product read more clearly within a compact footprint.

The material approach draws from AETHER’s existing retail language. Oak elements reference the crate system used in their stores, bringing warmth and structure into the space while maintaining a consistent visual identity. Fixtures and lighting were designed to feel refined but durable, balancing precision with the needs of a mobile environment.

A key feature is the custom side hatch, which opens the trailer both physically and visually. It allows natural light to enter and creates a stronger connection to the surrounding environment, making the space feel less enclosed and more adaptable to wherever it’s set up.

The result is a mobile retail space designed to prioritize clarity, flexibility, and function, while staying grounded in AETHER’s broader design ethos of utility, durability, and simplicity.

Special thanks to Ben and Ryan at AETHER for their collaboration throughout the process, and to Jazzper for support on renderings.
